Geometry is the science that treats of the shape and size of things. The most obvious property of geometry is that it is graphic. It is naturally related to physical objects and to the experiences of sight and touch.
Start with a smile
A shot of humour at the beginning of class can go a long way toward keeping your students engaged and learning. Laughter not only reduces stress, it also releases endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemical.
Parallel lines have so much in common — it's a shame that they'll never meet.
Make it hands-on
Because geometry is so visual, let students see and touch it: use geoboards, paper folding, solid models and drawing instruments from the Math Lab, and look for shapes in the classroom and around the school.
